Well how about this for a random rant, the top 10 things that you love the most about  Bakersfield.

Of course the bad is easy to see but I just wanted to see if I could put together 10 things quickly here of what I like most about this place:

1) First has to be that I was born here... that feel of belonging

2) The weather... I've been a lot of other places where it's nice but those places also get very ugly, I like the consistancy that we have here.

3) Potential, I don't think that there are many cities out there in the world that hold the potential that bakersfield has, in all aspects.

4) Friendly, although this can very I haven't run into many probles with people in general here.

5) Centrally located to the coast, mountains, and vegas.

6) The beer is good here

7) Of course, this one has to be special because it's number seven ... I met a very special person in my life here, she has turned out to be a great friend although she sucks because she moved away... but  that's ok too, everyone comes back to bakersfield.

8) Solitude, although this might not sound like a good point it's always nice to know that in a city like this I get peace and quiet.

9) The parks, the parks here are great and only getting better, I think the riverwalk is going to be a huge hit, anyone for a bbq

10) Bar none... Bakersfield is the most awsome place for Music, although the club sceen needs work ( and thank god for those of you putting your all into that ) this place absolutely rocks out when it wants to.  Prediction here... 5 years this is going to become a mecca hot spot for up and coming bands... *shakes magic eightball*... my sources tell me YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

So come on there guys and gals too.. anything to add I'd love to see others take on this one.

10 things we love about BAKO: 1. Close to LA, the beach, the mountains, and the desert. 2. Lots of nice clubs: Jerry's, Fish Lips, BUCK OWENS and so on. 3. Bike path and the new park at river lakes. 4. Chewys, Chilis, Red Lobster, Sams club food court and so on. 5.GEOLOGY OF KERN COUNTY:The geological diversity in Kern County is impressive. Encompassing the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley, southern Sierra Nevada Range, central western Coast Range, northern Transverse Range, southern Great Basin desert and eastern Mojave Desert, Kern County is one of the more extraordinary county's geologically in California. From ancient volcanoes in the desert to active earthquakes countywide to ever expanding alluvial deposits to rich oil deposits to continuing uplift in the mountains, the earth in Kern County tells many stories. The land with all its history and nooks and crannies is the reason for this region's amazing biological diversity. Kern County is California’s third-largest county in land area, and at 8,172 square miles, Kern County is larger than the land area of Massachusetts, New Jersey or Hawaii. It is also larger than the areas of Delaware, Rhode Island and Connecticut combined. Elevations are at a low of 206' above sea level along the northern border of the county to a high of 8824' just north of the summit of Mt. Pinos (the summit is in Ventura County).6. Heart walk, relay for live, and all those events. 7. Gold panning, fishing, hiking, arrowhead hunting, camping, hunting, bird watching, horse back riding and rafting and boating in KERN VALLEY. 8. House prices arn't too bad yet. 9.Condors Hocky and concerts at the RABO BANK -Bob Dlyan, No Doubt, Disney on ice, Ringling Brothers Circus and so on. 10. HERE'S TO SWIMM'N WITH BOW LEGGED WOMAN! Bakersfield has the best selection of women in the world, just look at that Beer festval posting: by Matt Munoz!!!! Gallen Young wants some of those! tHE BIGGER THE BETTER THE TIGHTER THE SWEATER... Oh and Bakotoipa!!!!!!!!!!
