Once again – give Bakersfield a little water, and all hell breaks lose. Okay, so it’s actually a lot of water, but the damage is pretty significant.
The increased water in the river has caused a huge crack in the highway through the canyon. Caltrans says, “It’s very likely it will be long-term closure.”
My big brother, for one, is none too happy about it.
He works in Lake Isabella, and now he has to take the LONG way around back and forth everyday. Not cool with gas prices so high.
The bright side is, there will probably be a lot less idiots drowning in the river this year.
