"Action!" you scream. You grab your laptop and make a break for the nearest coffeehouse. You gun your car engine and zoom down streets not made for cars to drive over fifty miles an hour. Asphalt flies.
And then you go blank. You're supposed to write a big action scene and don't know where to start. That's where the Random Writers Workshop comes in.
The Random Writers Workshop is held weekly at Russo's Books in Bakersfield, Calif. Headed up by author Nick Belardes, lectures and discussions have covered tips on getting published, as well as how to start a novel, how to write narrative, dialogue, setting, character development, flash fiction, point of view (and hellish verb tense), query letters and more.
In WEEK 15 (3/17) we will be discussing "action." Whether you're a novelist, short story writer or filmmaker, this is a great workshop for you.
Past guests have included Bonnie Hearn Hill, Elizabeth Collins, Duke Haney, Gina Frangello, Jonathan Evison, Greg Olear, Lauren Baratz-Logsted and more...
