Return of the funk??
So as I was saying...
Surprisingly when morning came, the room was pleasantly quiet. Cesareo usually snores up a storm. I have allergies, so I can get pretty loud at night, Tekwiz is a big boy, so you know how that goes, and Lydia is like little bear.
We gorged on Hot Pockets and Dr. Pepper, before heading back for one more day of the NAMM Show!! I was pretty much ready to split back to Bako, but not the rest. Cesareo needed a new tambourine, Tekwiz needed more photos with chicks with fake boobs, and Lydia was needed in the "quality" photo taking department.
Sunday we got to meet Doyle, original guitarist for The Misfits, and laughed at the many 80's rockers who show up every year to sign autographs.
But, not everyone has such a star-studded time..
At one point during our last rounds through the convention center, I walked by the entire Static-X band sitting by themselves at some company booth with Sharpies waiting for someone to ask for an autograph...
So goes the reality of the rock n' roll life. One day you're hip, the next day you're sitting alone with your last instrument endorsement, before your contract is cancelled. Suck...
But that's life, and that's how they keep it fresh at NAMM. Every year is a new batch of hit makers, sprinkled among the tried and true vets, hot models, and gizmos.
We'll definitely be back next year, with scented candles, ear plugs, and Hot Pockets..
