February 28th, 2007 - Take Action Tour at The Bakersfield Dome!
The 2007 edition of the Take Action Tour landed at the Bakersfield Dome, on February 28th, to a PACKED HOUSE and Bakotopia's very own, Big Ray, who once again armed himself with a trusty camera and an eye for the outrageous! Ray really outdid himself this time. I can't believe some of the shots he got this time around! You could literally see the hairs sticking out of the some of the artist's noses! That's rock photography!
Within the steamy confines of The Dome, Screamo / emo's biggest names of the moment: The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Emery, A Static Lullaby, Kaddisfly, and Scary Kids Scaring Kids, represented for Take Action, an organization working to help teens in time of crisis...

According to the official Take Action MySpace:
"You may be wondering what Take Action means. Like most things in life, names have different meanings to different people. To some, Take Action means a tour of cool punk and hardcore bands; to others, it means a CD compilation series filled with tons of well-known bands that comes out every year; and to others, Take Action means saving lives from suicide by finding warning signs early and realizing there are people who can help. To us at Sub City, Take Action is the idea that we will not wait for our world, our country, our government, our teachers, or even our parents to make ours and other people's lives better, creating a better world...one voice and one action at a time!
Since last year, Take Action! has become associated with the Youth America Hotline at 1-877-YOUTHLINE(968-8454), offering young people a network of their peers to turn to in times of crisis. Over the years, the tour has had the pleasure of working with bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, Thursday, Hot Water Music, Poison The Well, and many more; our title sponsor Hot Topic, other partner companies and sponsors like Chord Magazine, MTVU, Purevolume, Alternative Press Magazine, Tower Records, Etnies, Fanscape, Stim TV and many others; and we have received thousands of government-funding petition signatures and thousands of e-mails and letters from many of you who have been impacted by the tour."
Special Thanks to The Dome and Tim Gardea Presents for allowing Bakotopia the access to get the job done like we always do!!
SEE YOU AT THE NEXT SHOW!!
