Ladies & Gentlemen,
We are starting off by taking a look-see at two of the more popular
Lost Ocean (featuring Skyler Johnson on keys, Jeff Gray with vocals and guitar, Christopher Short on drums, and Bret Black on bass, vocals, and the clap.)
AND
Lost Ocean:
Maj: Bloody hell, I see that the ocean has reached
III: I agree with you, mate. I thought that the songs were fit as a butcher’s dog.
Maj: The only problem I have is with the vocals. It seems like he’s lacking the minerals to sing like a real man. That being said, the melodies are and back-up vocals are spot on.
III: I wanted to hear a bit more of the guitar. The band is lacking a little of balls. Just offer me a little more edge and a bit less of the lullaby sound.
Maj.: Keyboards in a band can be hit or miss and this group gets it right. There is a nice balance. I am guessing that the lad on keys is the main songwriter of the group.
III: I find that keyboardists can often muck it all up. Not this bloke. He’s playing for the song and not for himself. I find his playing mint.
Maj.: I feel that this group what it takes to reach the top of the pops. “Just Glide” is quite a catchy tune that feels like a warm day running through the park. “Lights” is a tune that catches you of guard with the electric piano (which sounds more like a toy piano lulling somebody to sleep) then the band comes crashing in and the grand piano cascades down with the punchy chords and the drummer and bass player set up the groove, which is a bit loose. The one thing that this band needs is to feel that groove between the piano, bass, and drums; otherwise it sounds as it they are playing half-pissed. One last pop at this group is that the electric guitar is lost in the production. Next time give the guitarist some proper volume. Despite my criticisms, I give them 4 pints.
III: The vocalist doesn’t bother me so much. Although, he sounds like he needs to put a little lead in his pencil. I give these lads 4 pints. One last thing, how does one lose a bloody ocean?

Midnight
III: Why is everyone in such a panic? There’s a panic at the discotheque, panic at
Maj.: I agree Charles, what the bloody hell is to worrying about? Why a panic? Oh thats right, the non-creative music late at night. The first song I heard was “Everyday”; from the beginning guitar plucking and thudy bass I was turned off. I try to swallow the rest and then the melody from the chorus of Dramarama’s “Anything Anything” perked my ears up and then I was soon sipping my tea.
Maj.: I felt this song lacked some real energy and Mark’s voice is just too nasally for me. Soon I felt very cabbaged from listening to all of this. Normally I like Mark's voice.
III: I was bored immediately. This tune is just Douglas Hurd!
Maj.: After taking in “Tonight Is Our Last…” I could tell that the melodies were becoming similar. I hear a lot of
III: I don’t know. I didn’t find anything original about this song. It sounds a lot like the last song. It’s like they are trying to pass of a load of old bollocks on us. It makes me want to get lagered up!
Maj.: Speaking of lager, I think I shall have a pint or two right now. Two pints from me.
III: The Major is definitely more forgiving than I am. I think I’ll just go to the local pub and grab my favorite lager. Now, I give Midnight Panic 2 pints as well.
