RAT - A - TAT - TAT.. The R.A.T. is Back!

The Royal Association of Thespians presents, "A Midsummer Night's Ream  at The Empty Space late night in June!

Described as, “a cross between Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Jackass," the latest cavalcade of perversion by R.A.T. - The Royal Association of Thespians, is ready to unleash a heaping dose of comedic raunchiness that only this merry band of men and women can supply!

"I've never been a part of a group like this before," said R.A.T. member Jen Raven. "We encourage breaking the rules of theatre, but emphasize having a goodtime while doing it."

Part sketch, part improv, "A Midsummer Night's Ream," is directed by Matt Fredrickson and Dave Rock (not to be confused with comedian Chris Rock, RIGHT Jen?) and is a series of adult-themed comedy acts spewed forth by a select group of Bakersfield's most talented actors and former stage hands, complete with nicknames to protect the innocent.

"The whole show is like a comedy competition between castmates," said Raven. "We try to hold character no matter whose dicking with you, and hope that our fun spills over into the audience."

Not for the faint of heart or conservative mindset, Raven stresses that the show promises to offend even the hardest of hearts, all in the name of comedy.

"We make racist jokes, women jokes...anything to help everybody relax and enjoy themselves," she said. "So, please don't bring the kids, leave them in your car!"

So, if you're up for some good, unclean fun, R.A.T. may just be what the doctor ordered to save you from the "blahs."

"There is partial nudity, alcohol abuse, and rotten language, very unprofessional and just the way we like it," said Raven.

*R.A.T. is an equal opportunity offender.

R.A.T. is:
David Rock (owner, writer, director; aka "Chet Youbetcha")
Matthew Fredrickson (ditto; aka "Dr. Evil")
Jesse Arenas (aka "Fresh Mex")
Morgan S. Roy (aka "Roger Cuminbum")
Tsunami Daniel McCorvey  (aka "Sexy Back")
Jen Raven (sex kitten and PR goddess aka "The Bitch")
Claire Moles (the other sex kitten aka "Claire Bear")
Todd Powers (also the cast photographer; aka "Double-D")
Maurice Pittman (The virgin!!  aka "Hot Chocolate")

I'm damn excited that RAT is going to be on the cover of the next Bakotopia issue. I am planning to create a promo video before the show opens next week so STAY TUNED. I just hope I can edit it in a way that makes it tame enough for the public to see...

I can’t wait to see the show tonight!! I read the article in the Bakotopia mag and it sounds sooo freaking awesome!! I think a few of my Roller Derby sisters are going to make it out with me to tonight’s show.... If not I am going to give them a big Bakersfield Rollergirls derby ckeck and drag them by the ears!! From what I hear you guys rock the house and people have been leaving your show in tears… Tears of laughter!!! Keep up the great work… and remember..

AWSOME!!!I am now an offical "theatre addict".I never thought that laughing at such sensitive issues could be so creepy. I was disgusted with myself for even fathoming the most subtle smile. I could not help it. These humans are hella funny. My favorite scenes were the ones with Claire in them (Hella, hella, HELLA HOT!!!). The market scene when the Mexican returns the faulty toilet paper (American Flag) was my true my favorite. Laughed my a$$ off!Hasta la otra! Sal "El Patrio" Plascencia
