‘HAIR’ lets loose
The classic American tribal love-rock musical is coming to the Empty Space through July
The Empty Space Theater is excited to present, “HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical!”
“HAIR” was a significant part of the drug, music and peace-love culture of the 1960s that was placed into national spotlight.
The show has a strong effect on everyone and acts as a bridge between generations and viewpoints. Phenomenal musical numbers include Aquarius, Good Morning Starshine, Hair, and many more. The lyrics show more depth than noticed at first glance, borrowing anything from the drug culture to Shakespeare.
This show has vitality, timelessness, and a meaning that outlives the late 1960s and early 1970s in America. "...be free, no guilt, be whoever you are, do whatever you want, just as long as you don't hurt anyone."
<<Check out pix and video from HAIR at The Empty Space!
This Utopian philosophy incorporates many concepts, which supply lyrics for a show comprised almost exclusively of rock musical numbers. As a social commentary of our times, “HAIR” provides an insight into the philosophy of the flower children of the 1960s.
Come see the first and most successful of the rock musicals this June and July at The Empty Space.
Running from June 29 through July 14, “HAIR” promises to be THE event of the summer!

Although i disagree with the hippie-love-peace movement, i do think whoever is singing has a great voice and do want to see it. looks good.

The drug usage & the free love. [having sex in communes and with whoever you want and bringing children up like that] Most of the "hippies" had to grow up and get jobs, others remained homeless or dead. They said they were peaceful [which everyone wants peace] but for people Like Jane Fonda [a total US traitor] weren't peaceful. I believe in doing your part for your country. No body likes war but freedom isn't free, Many dodged the Draft, which i believe is wrong. They believed they shouldn't have to pay taxes and left all that to everyone else. Most were drunks, abusive, and addicts by the 70's. The whole era i believe ruined Americas Values and Patriotic Roots. They said to question EVERYTHING, the government is always wrong, & i just don't agree with that.
but i love all kinds of movies that i don't really agree with.... so that doesn't' really matter. The play looks good.

All I know is, Bakotopia will be in the house on Friday with a gang of people to support the play. If anyone is interested in joining our group, get in touch with Twinkie here on Bakotopia! The 13th is the release date of our next isssue, and I think....someone in this play is featured in it...I wonder who it is? Besides, my girlfriend is a hot, hippy chick (even though she'll deny her hippiness forever) so I gotta support 'em??? Peace!
