Blitz Girlz-mania!

Last week, I was given my toughest writing assignment to date - interviewing the Bakersfield Blitz Girls.

Yes, I love my job.

Picture, if you will, eight pretty girls in tight jeans, dancing in unison to “American Woman” while photographer Roger Hornback and I stand in the corner, bobbing our heads and trying to stay cool.

And no, not because we were getting all hot and bothered watching the dancers — the swamp cooler didn't work very well…honest!

Being the professionals we are, Roger and I immediately began our mission of unlocking the secrets of “Blitz Girlz-mania,” that up to now has been subject to stories about being high spirited role models.

In other words, very WE Channel. Borrrring….

Let's try something different, shall we?

What is it that makes the Blitz Girlz so special? Were we going to uncover another group of stereotypical jumpy, grinny, loud mouths like Patty Simcox from ‘Grease’? Or more importantly, survive this all out assault, or shall I say “blitz,” on our hot-blooded American male senses?
 
Oh yeah, I love my job.

“Pull up, then 1 and 2,” yelled team captain Taryn Greene over and over while the music blared. “Turn, dip, scoop, shake!”

And shake they did for us, God bless their little hearts.

After rehearsal, Roger and I hung out with some of the gals to get some scoop (no pun intended) and found out some interesting facts about these beauties we're sure you'll enjoy reading again and again.
