I first discovered Bakotopia at Fishlips when I was performing with FattKatt and the VonZippers back in March. It was a pleasure meeting some of the staff. Ever since then I've been hooked on Bakotopia magazine.

My name is Nikkita. I am an actress and singer in Bakersfield. I just finished a film with Robert Deniro, Ed Norton, Bruce Willis and Sean Penn. It was a thrill just to be in the same room with these stars. I started my acting in Bakersfield with David Zent who was the only person that gave me a chance.

Zent also was the only person that let me perform at the Candlelight Dinner Theater and the Jewelbox where I got to show off my singing abilities and presented my Marilyn Monroe show. I went on to perform with local talent FattKatt and the VonZippers at the Crystal Palace. I appeared in Buck Owens last music video "Streets of Bakersfield". It was a pleasure to have known Buck Owens.

At the Fox Theater in Bakersfield, I was hired to impersonate Marilyn Monroe and give away a ten thousand dollar diamond necklace. I perform at the Kern County Fair every year with my Oldies but Goodies show and the Cruise N Car show put on by Pam and Art. Kosmos and Fishlips were my stomping grounds to fine tune my songs and relate to the audience. When I would perform there, everybody would be looking at the stage when I started singing but I wouldn't be there. My style is to sing from a location that is unexpected. I would sing from table to table and bring the audience into my songs. I was the first one to start this trend at Kosmos. Other singers after me started to follow my act.

I love Bakersfield for all its done for me and now I have my own band that performs at the famous clubs including the Viper Room, Whiskey a-go-go, and I can say that I am currently romantically involved with the punk rocker Lee Ving of Fear, who is a fantastic entertainer and has been in numerous movies such as Clue!, Flashdance, Streets of Fire, Masters of Menace. Lee is currently doing country and western and entertains in the L.A. area.

You gotta bring Lee Ving to Bako. I would pay big money to see him sing country versions of FEAR songs - "Beef Bologna," "I Don't Care About You," and "F*** Christmas." Hehehe.. Thanks for supporting the magazine! - Matt
