I was privlaged to attend the show with some old skool friends; and BOY was it SWEET! My party was laggin' so I arrived towards the close of Flyleaf's set. (Snivel) I was moderately dissapointed you could say.
Anyway, that TINY chick wailed. They sounded just as good live as they do on disk.....maybe better.
Which brings me to ATREYU. This is my second time seeing them live. ATREYU is a rare band: they sound much better live than on disc. No comparison.
Hell Yeah! was a treat. They're set was entirely too short if you ask me. Dude is ugly as sin, don't get me wrong..... but I'd probably do 'em solely based on talent.(he,he)
This now brings us to the ultra-fablous Evanessence. Amy Lee looked gorgeous in her emo-fairy inspired dress. Oh God, watching her twirl....
High energy set from the get go! Guitar actrobatics were the norm, by far not the exception. Ms. Lee's voice emaculate! It's not often you experience a strong vocalist such as her live, belting rock no less.
And yes, the piano was on stage. At least for portions of the set. To supplement, there was a keyboard tucked away stage right. AWESOME!
Finally, after the most seemingly long setup in my life......KORN!
Korn opened with two of their standards. Then they kicked into Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall PTS. 1,2,&3 as Jon Davis was encased by a green laser piramid. A kick ass laser show ensued! Lasers of all the primary colors dazzled all in attendance. I thought to myself,"so THIS is how my parents felt."
What can I say? I've had the privledge of attending every Korn hometown show from the age of 16 on. Our boys ALWAYS thrash it up!
