Experience a new revolution of urban expression at The Dome on Nov. 30! GET INVOLVED!

When the term “art” is mentioned in conversation, famous names like Van Gogh or Picasso may come to mind - not names such as Ewok, Craola or Crete.

If those names don’t ring a bell, your tastes most likely don’t reach beyond textbook teachings of priceless museum works.

The mission of The Movement art and culture show, to be held on Nov. 30 at The Dome at 7 p.m., is to shine a positive light on underground urban street styles - be it art, music, dance, or fashion.

At The Movement, we believe art is everywhere and should not be placed under restriction and scolded by today’s society. Art should be free and appreciated in any form, and most importantly not taken for granted.

Every year the government spends thousands of dollars a year creating more programs in schools to encourage students to be creative and artistic. More and more kids each day turn on the TV then pick up a marker or pencil to draw - art is moving lives.

For those unable to grasp the concept with a clenched fist, this show is for you. The Movement is a gift - an opportunity to not just talk about what you can do but show what you can do as an artist or art supporter. Prove the conservative mindset wrong.

Get your art seen and heard. Push your vision beyond limits with new techniques. Teach others how to love “art” by submitting your version of urban art for display as it was intended to be: free.

Submitting your art at The Movement also qualifies you to be entered in a contest for prizes. All art will be a judged by a cast of votes from participants, along with a panel of judges.

Submissions may include clothing, tile, decks, canvas - just express yourself!

A variety of different artists will be in attendance along with vendors. There will also be a showcase of B-boy styles and MC battles, for those with an appreciation for street poetics. Plus break dancing and live painting!

Help us expose the world of underground art and open minds to a new lifestyle.

The Movement is just the beginning of a new appreciation for the urban art world. Like a disease, it’s contagious. Spread the art, the word, the love.

To submit art and participate:
• $6 per entry (includes entry to show, all art and fees must be submitted by Nov. 28)
