2008 St. Paddy’s Day Shindigs!

Ahhhh, corned beef and cabbage, Guinness beer, Irish Car Bombs (shot's, guy's!), everything green, and of course, LEPRECHAUNS...Must be that time of year again where everyone gets to be Irish for the day! Yes, my camera is ready some serious picture taking, ladies! 

St. Patrick's Day is the annual feast in honor of Ireland’s most celebrated patron saints who legend has it - banished snakes from the island. It is a national holiday in the country of Ireland, but celebrated worldwide by millions of Irish wannabe's, including myself. 

Here’s a list of choice shindig's going on around town that responded to my phone calls.  If your establishment of choice isn't here, then they either have nothing going on or no-one answered.

Fishlips - 1517 18th st. downtown: Bakotopia and Fishlips presents the "2008 Shamrock Shindig" with Mento Buru, The Iron Outlaws, Mystic Red Band, The Dalloways, Black Dog, The Bakersfield Rollergirls, DJ Mikey and HECTIC FILMS! Corned beef and cabbage served all day, drink specials, bands kick-off at 6:30pm-close, $5, 21 & Over, 324-2557. 

McMurphy's Irish Pub - 14 Monterey Street: Live bands, food, and drink specials all day long, 869-1451. 

Replay Lounge - 4500 Buck Owens Blvd.: Happy Hour Special, $5 Irish Car Bombs, $2 beer specials, VIP bottle service, 4pm-close, 324-3300.

Riley's Pub - 1523 19th st. downtown: Open at noon, Full bar, Live DJ 9-Close, live bagpipes, 324-3268. 

Nile Bar and Grill - 1721 19th st., downtown: "St. Paddy's Day Club Nite", green beer, drink specials, live DJ, 323-8575. 

MUGG'S Pub & Eatery - 1306 Airport Dr: Divided Highway 7-11pm, drink specials and party favors, and green beer, 393-2035. 

Syndicate Lounge - 1818 Eye St.: Robbie Byrne on Irish Pipes, Marc Forrester & Kenny Mount of The Filthies on Bodhran, 8pm, 327-0070.

Sandrini's - 1918 Eye St., Back-Up Johnny live, 10pm.

McGee's at The Ice House - 3401 Chester Ave: Corned beef and cabbage and braised lamb shank, special Irish dessert, Irish drink specials,323-8730.

Cheers - 3809 Ming Ave: Free corned beef and cabbage starting at one o'clock, drink specials, 836-3960.

Guthrie's Alley Cat,  The Mint, Belvedere, and Silver Fox all stated that they would have the usual mayhem at their respective clubs for Monday.

So everyone enjoy being Irish for the day! Don't Drink and Drive!
