On March 18, Micheal Dauner headed to L.A. to view a taping of “The Price is Right” with his fellow Costco employees.
Little did he know that he would leave the ’70s-décor studio a winner.
“This was my second time going to ‘The Price is Right.’ The previous time was when Bob Barker was still hosting,” said Dauner. “When they called my name I didn’t even notice until someone I was with told me. Then I noticed someone close to the stage was holding up a poster board with my name.”
After winning XXXX, in which you pick which items are priced incorrectly, Dauner got to spin the wheel.
“It was a surreal feeling spinning the wheel. It seems much bigger on television. The lady who I was competing against and I tied, so we had to spin again. This time I spun 35 cents. I beat her spin by 5 cents, but didn’t notice until I saw my co-workers screaming and yelling!”

Dauner won the showcase when his competitor bid $8,000 over. He ended up winning the showcase, which consisted of a home security system, jet skis, and bedroom set.
He will receive his prizes, worth an estimated $30,926 (before taxes), within three months of the taping.
The episode in which Dauner is featured will air April 14, 2008 at 10am PST.
