When Bakotopia graphic designers Eric Duhart and Orlando Galvan approached editor Matt Muñoz about the concept for our anniversary edition, we knew it had to be cool.


Drinks are on Matt, yo!

Inspired by the classic lounge records of the ‘50s and ‘60s with a Mancini martini twist, Bakersfield’s AJ’s Tuxedo Junction hooked up the perfect tux, and to put the vision into motion, we consulted local Bako photographer Mike Lopez, whose office, M329 Photography, 1524 18th St., is located right right outside Bakotopia’s main office.


Henry Mancini provided inspiration for the cover shot...

It only took one e-mail to Lopez to get things mapped out. Lopez’s cool, professional demeanor and style can be felt in the pics.
