Those that have guns don't want to control, those that don't have guns want to control those that do!The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights declares a well-regulated militia as "being necessary to the security of a free State" and prohibits infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms. I think that says it very nicely. Remember the more laws we have the less freedoms we have!I've never seen a gun kill anyone by itself it's the inexperienced or mentally ill person that picks up a gun and kills people.we have the RIGHT to protect ourselves,..we need to MAINTAIN THAT RIGHT!!!!!

Having worked as an LVN in an urban ER and seen LOTZ of gunshotwounds and now working with teens whose first concern is their gang affliation--it might be surprising how pro-gun I am. Even handguns! Sadly there are morons who will use crayons to injure someone if they want--so restricting guns/ammo/etc. is not the answer. We need to build better, smarter people. Additionally, hunting for game (if you intend to EAT what you kill) is no worse then all these silly sushi-maniacs in by-the sea Bako. He is a a real man, even though he fades into the background noise, he is there when stupid ***** happens and stupider people come out of the woodwork. Gun control will mean that only the criminal will be allowed to bear arms. Right now drugs cannot be enforced and look at all the resourses use in trying to control it. So, taking away the right to have a gun from an honest citizen will not change anything. Comment From: sassyhawk

Gun Control? It isn't the guns that need controlled it is the people who own them that need to control themselves. A gun never did anything wrong, a gun never took a life justly or unjustly, a gun never did anything .. it took a person to cause the action. With that being said, we all have the right to protect ourselves and not depend on some other agency to do it for us. It is obvious that they are not capable of control those that "need" to be controlled as they look for something to blame for their failures. Personally I will not pay the price with my own life or the lives of others I love by hanging my head and handing over my guns to anyone. That is stupidity! Then the only guns left out there are in the hands of law enforcement and others who have no respect for the laws in the first place. Lets keep it in focus, it was NEVER about the gun it was and is about control. Lord knows I'm not going to give up control of my life to a spun out idiot holding a gun anymore than i'm willing to lay it down for a close eyed legislator thinking that taking away protection from good people will save lives. Bottom line we have the right to protect ourselves from harm with what ever measures it requires to do so effectively.

With China taking control of much of our assets, and being Chinese it the #1 foreign language being taught, even in our elementary schools, the rights given to us by the constitution are in joepardy. I would never register my guns much less give them up. Ted Nugent has been our saviour fighting gun control feverishly as he does. Peace begins with the ability to protect yourself. I am no master of words but I know that we should have the right to bear arms. Gun control also affects the simple huntsman. Guns are weapons, they serve no other purpose. Our country was founded on the right to bear arms. Sometimes people who aren't intelligent or responsible have guns and use them in a way that that our constitution did not intend. True legal gun owners do not need gun control, the problems that this state and many other's have, is that there are to many illegal gun owners, criminals, thugs, theive's, etc etc... actually if California were more like Texas where citizens have the right to carry a concealed weapon crime in this state would drop drastically! a thug or criminal would think twice about trying to rob you or your family if he new you had a firearm for protection. I believe that as citizens we should be reqired to own a gun . to protect our selfs and and our neighbors. when you turn 21 you should be issued a gun and when you become a citizen you should be issued a gun that is appropriate to your size and wight. then we would all be equal with the crooks . It is evident that there are those who refuse to accept the truth that free people have the God-given right to bear arms, to defend themselves and their loved ones. These same people's sole desire seems to be about control of others not guns. Do they really believe that water alone causes drownings, unlit matches cause fires? I do not own a gun, but this made me rethink that point...if we are free to keep and bear arms, then we would be much better equipped to stop evil than the unarmed helpless ones. Intelligence test if your gonna try to buy a gun along with the back ground check. It's the morons who ruin it for the people who enjoy hunting and shooting animals/targets at the range. And extreme liberals take the "morons" who have no self control with their guns and push it to the front of the media and demand that guns be outlawed for what ever reason. Flip side though control is needed just in every case. Does the person really need a automatic machine gun to hunt or enjoy a day firing at a target? No not really. It's excessive. control is needed. I agree with Ted, not less guns, more guns. More guns in the hands of the right people. Morons need not apply. There should be not only an IQ test when one applies for a gun license, but also a general knowledge quiz, maybe some jeopardy questions... If I wasn't apt to find myself involved in some phase of the penal system, I would own one myself, but the urge to take somebody out prevents me from doing so. I am a mom of 4 wonderful children and believe they have the right to be safe from anyone and everything.People of today do not use their fists to defend themselves anymore, each day there are more cowards using other forces like planes to show power. I myself and all others should have the right to carry a gun to defend ourselves from these cowards. If a CITIZEN obtains a firearm in a legal manner for self protection, then so be it. When the admendments were wrote many many years ago they were for the people (us) why is it the intellegence of our founding fathers is always being challenged and questioned. That is not showing our new generations,the meaning of faith, responsibilty,and honor. The world has become a place where a feeling of saftey is not taken for granite and the fight for freedom is long and never ending.
