Bakobilly Fest Finds Monthly Home at Trout's

Trout's Night Club has a well-known reputation for booking a large variety of talented Country, Western, and Rock and Roll bands; attracting all ages and walks of life whom comfortably come to drink, dance, and enjoy the social atmosphere!

Trout's is also one of Bakersfield's oldest original establishments to steadily and successfully bring fun and versatile music to locals for decades.

Management, including spokesperson Rockwell and lead promoter Lynda Fette provide many new promotions for Trout's. "We're transforming the local once 'seedy' honky tonky into a true sourse of local entertainment," states Fette.Their most recent addition, the Rockabilly day known as "Bakobilly," is held every last Saturday of each month.

Bakobilly is an event dedicated to our local expanding Rockabilly music scene! "Bakobilly brings a revitalization of embracing Americana traditional music." Rockwell comments. "It's important for Trout's to pedestal many genres; recognizing diverse groups in society."

Each Bakobilly kicks off with a vintage car and motorcycle show. These souped-up Hot Rods and cherried Choppers are nothing but custom and elite compared to any other average stock.

Live entertainment is an all day essential with bands previously including Fatt Katt and the VonZippers, Dusk Devils, The Iron Outlaws, The Councilmen and many more.

This month's Bakobilly on June 28th features The Iron Outlaws, SLO's Red Eye Junction, The Dusk Devils, Ridge Route Romeos along with Trout's house band The Black Board Playboys taking the stage at 8:30 pm, closing the night.

The evening wouldn't be complete without the main event: The oh-so-sexy pin up girl contest! Any girl is eligible to participate for a chance to be the next Miss Trout Bait, winning cash and loads of prizes! Many enter glammed to the nines in full rockabilly attire.  Red lipstick, tight skirts and high heels are reason enough to rise to the occasion!  

 There's no denying the impact Rockabilly has cast upon the Rock and Roll movement, capturing the magnetic fashion and 1950's rebellion. "It's more than music. It's an image; a lifestyle. It's entertainment combined with a festive way of life! it's the looks, sex appeal, wholesome music and even the sound of the motor running in your car," notes Rockwell.

Bakobilly is one day out of the month in honoring the pompadour, cuffed jeans, tattoos,  lowered chassis and fishnet stockings!  There are gorgeous girls, motocycles, cars,  bands, door prize drawings, karaoke and great food and drink specials!

This month's Bakobilly is Saturday, June 28th, 2008 located on 805 N. Chester Avenue.  The bash starts at 3pm - Admission is only $5! So take the time to partake in all the action! 661-399-6700 - TROUT'S
