Spend an evening with The Riders of the Purple Sage at the Rabobank Theater. Join the Bakersfield Community Concert Association as this extraordinary group of incredible musicians brings the Hollywood cowboy sound to Bakersfield.
Rich vocal harmonies and shredding instrumentalism sum up the sound of The Riders of the Purple Sage. It's new guys with a new twist on a vintage sound. From movie cowboy music (Tumbling Tumbleweeds, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Cool Water) to catchy new originals and burning bluegrass inspired instrumentals, the Riders put on a snappy show. Campfire yes, sleepy no.
Unforgettable melodies, tight harmonies, red-hot musicianship and a fast-paced show are the trademarks of Riders of the Purple Sage. Led by Foy Willing in the 1940s and Cody Bryant today, they redefine classic western movie music with a sound that is uniquely their own. With deep roots in many American folk styles, they blend elements of the classic sound of Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers with bluegrass, Cajun and Bob Willis-style western swing into their own musical vision.
