Bakersfield's Pink Ladies
The ’50s are back via a group of charmers waiting to make your acquaintance
By Paulette Engle, Bakotopia.com contributor
The Pink Ladies are an energetic group of girls that also want to help out in our community.
The Pink Ladies was founded by members Paulette Engle, Joanne McCain, and Alycia Linder in February 2008 as close friends hoping to find other girls with similar interests in careers, rockabilly music, style, hobbies - and our love for the ’50s era.
As of July 2008, Pink Ladies membership is at 15.
We are currently raising money to sponsor children for back to school shopping, needy families during Christmas time, and raising money to benefit cancer research.
For fun, the Pink Ladies can be seen at Chuy’s Biker Nights, and we love to bowl at Westchester Bowling Alley. We can also be seen individually all over Bakersfield proudly wearing our Pink Ladies jackets. Be on the lookout for our summertime Pink Ladies car washes starting in July. All proceeds will go to charity!
If you are interested in having the Pink Ladies help raise money for your organization, call Joanne McCain at 706-9581. For information on becoming A Pink Lady, send an e-mail to:
