Newsletter...'Burn The Witch' edition!

As we kick off the month of October, I just want to warn all you readers out there. There’s something about this time of year, when the weather cools down and Halloween season returns.

We still have a whole month to go, but I can feel the almost werewolf-like transformation beginning already!

Starting with our cover feature - Burn The Witch III is happening at The Empty Space this month. I love these ladies - I love them so much I handed over the controls for this issue to their committee.

“Make it yours,” I said. They obliged, giving me a chance to step back and watch them in action.

BTW III curator Jen Raven has graced the cover of Bakotopia mag three times: First during her stint in R.A.T., then with “The Resoluters,” and now with fellow artist Jaden Snow to kick off the witching season. Find out what she has in store this year and for the future.

If I could celebrate Halloween all year long I would. Not that I don’t - horror movies are always on my Netflix queue or in my collection at home. Last year I dressed as Fidel Castro, but what about this year?

We also have a cool feature on a new haunted attraction in Bako - Talladega Frights. Last year we featured The Chamber - I wonder which one will be the scariest this year? I’m thinking we should send some Bakotopians on a secret visit and rate the frights for our upcoming Oct. 16 Halloween issue!

Don’t forget to register to vote before the Oct. 20 deadline. We’re right in the middle of the biggest presidential election ever - and with all the rants, raves and arguments over who’s the best, we all need to do our part and pass the word along. Then vote on Nov. 4 - it’s so easy!
