We'll Miss you, Bettie
By Danny Garone, Bakotopia.com contributor
The world’s most famous pin-up, responsible for spawning a million look-alikes passed away on Dec. 11, at the age of 85, in Los Angeles, CA.
She was an icon of beauty, ferociously sensual, with a wholesomeness that made your attraction to her remain assured. She was a quiet lioness with eyes that made it okay to stare, inviting us all to take a dip into the waters of whatever delights we dreamed of.
She was our healthy, doll-faced Bettie Page. Any man or woman that laid eyes upon her was touched by her unique ability to connect to us through her countless images.
There was Norma Jean and there was Bettie Page - our dark angel with a smile that made us feel naughty. We will always remember you as the icon of freedom and a symbol of what we all want to love. To rest in the peace is what you've earned.
You will always be remembered as the original Iron Angel.
Sincerely,
Bakersfield & The Iron Outlaws
