Newsletter - Fluffy Edition!

I’ve had way too much coffee today.

As I write this, I’m shaking with too much caffeine-induced energy. It’s Monday, and if you’re like me, you stop by your favorite java joint to get your fix. Jennifer and the gang at the Filling Station downtown always hook it up, and they’ve got these de-lish coconut pineapple muffin tops. Oh man, you must try them.

Over the Jan. 10 weekend, I checked out three cool Bako events - LaughterComedy at The Empty Space, Sunday Snake Oil at Fishlips, then on Sunday I attended my first beer pong tourney back at Fishlips. Bakersfield was seriously jumpin’!

The comedy show was packed out, and the laughs were splendid! Bravo, Bakersfield! Sunday Snake Oil’s crowd showed off some crazy dance moves, but the best part was watching the singer stomp his boots to get the drummer to speed up on AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell.” I only laugh because I’ve been that singer stomping his foot before - come on, Cesareo! Haha …

Sunday afternoon’s PONG661 beer pong tourney took me over the edge. The place was jumping, the brew was flowing, and these peeps were really into it!
