Waking up everyday to the daily grind, there’s nothing like a bolt of creative enthusiasm to get you through the day.

This issue is all about that basic need for human success - inspiration.

On the cover we have our Bako homeboy Jonathan Davis, returning home to inject some much needed life into our local music scene.

‘93 was a golden year for bands in Bakersfield. Our city was looked upon as the next Seattle, and our boys from KORN hit it big.

Pretty soon, fans dreaded their hair, sales of Adidas wear went through the roof and new music flooded the streets. KORN’s huge success was the stuff of dreams.

Jonathan’s success story could be yours too. Maybe not the same version, but his message is clear - don’t give up. Photographer Mike Lopez was also at BRyder’s to capture the rare images of a relaxed rock god.

Speaking with Jonathan about his travels from autopsies to arenas was amazing. Thought you were a fan of his music? You're about to become a fan of the man. Don’t miss his show on Feb. 26.

And it doesn’t end there. Famed street artist, Joey Krebs, who honed his skills right here in Bakersfield is coming home to do his first art show since leaving for LA to become the art of Rage.
