But didn't we just celebrate our 1-year anniversary yesterday? It sure feels that way.

Now with issue 53 in your precious little hands, we hope that our commitment to making Bakotopia the coolest local scene 'zine has lived up to the hype.

Your words, photos, stories, art, and support fill these pages. Without you we're nothing, so let's party together this May 4 - our 2nd Anniversary!

So many cool moments to reminisce about during the past year - everything from our local art scene growing along with new art galleries, local businesses, and  success stories.

During one of our hottest days of the year so far, photographer Holly Carlyle managed to put together another smash-up set of cover & feature story photos.

Holly has been a big part of this year's success, giving our covers that hot look, and a perfect example of what Bako is all about. Bring us your talent, and let us show you off to the rest of the world!

Since our Anniversary lands so close to the one of our favorite holidays - Cinco De Mayo, we've decided to combine the bashes Bakotopia style. Join us at Fishlips in downtown on Tuesday, May 5 for our “Drinko de Mayo 2nd Anniversary Party”!
