The military should seize the Obama administration and water board them especially Nancy Pelosi then they should gather up some sensible people in this nation like Ron Paul or other politicians with a proven track record and start a new election. These damn liberals have sabotaged our party system (dems and repubs), the last presidential election (voting fraud by ACORN officials) and they have sabotaged our constitution. Next you will see this government pass the "fairness doctrine" which will take away the 1st amendment from radio hosts like Rush and Savage. America still has not confirmed if Obama is a natural born citizen of America yet and this administration keeps covering that up no thanks to our radical left media. Obama also hides from the press and the radical left media like MSNBC, praise Obama by saying that he is intelligent enough to dodge the press. The whole reason why we have the press is to get answers for the American public. Obama uses his cover guy, Robert Gibbs who is the most over paid clown in office. This is by far the most corrupt administration we have ever seen here in America and our military should seize them before they nationalize the health care system and convert it to universal. Also seize them before they spend those trillions of dollars, create another endless war and before they expand our government even more than it is now.

I don't have time to read all of that..... so you enjoy a cheeseburger and I'll go back to work. I'll do that research this weekend when i have time i don't have those numbers on the top of my head.

Um well. let me see if I can butt it a bit. to Shane's defense, what should a person think when freedom of speech is threatened because some highschool girl doesnt liked being callled fat online? Or when the government pretty much wants to abolish the 2nd amendment? Government is out of control. They print money at will and hand it over to failing businesses that the money printers own.... how does that work? keep in mind that I am by no means anywhere political but I find this a threat to the basic freedoms that the constitution was built on, and if it wasnt built on these then they wouldnt be the 1st and 2nd amendment. maybe im putting things together that shouldnt be put together but what i see is a run for power and control by corrupt individuals in power. What happens form here or what the end result will be, I dont know. But thats just my observation. Its so easy for you not to agree with shane because you share an opinion with the majority. But what good will a corrupt person do when the impeach another corrupt person? what good will elections do when people in power are the problem?

All right, tell me exactly what "welfare" we were offered to cut in this recent election.  I'll give you two freebies - we WERE offered to cut health care and education for children under the age of five, estimated to free up $608 million; and we were offered to cut mental health programs, estimated to free up $230 million.  (For those keeping score at home, that's $838 million, combined.) Name any other "welfare" or "handout" program that was offered to us.

Now compare that to the 2009 California budget shortfall, reported as already $11.2 billion for this fiscal year and projected to exceed $40 billion in the 2009-2010 fiscal year.  Notice anything?  Well, for starters, those numbers up above are measured in "millions," while these are measured in "billions."  Even if every dime projected to be made available from those programs was spent towards clearing the existing shortfall, it would only have reduced it by 7.5% percent.  That leaves 92.5% that would have to be filled by either finding other cuts such as education, raising taxes, or borrowing yet again; and that doesn't even touch the looming forty billion shortfall for next year.

If you want, you can dig up every "welfare" program this state actually runs, total up the amount they're projected to spend this year, and see if that would dent the state deficits any better.  Go ahead and define the term however you like; just make sure you share the definition you choose.  (Here's another hint: what was traditionally known as "welfare," the Aid for Families with Dependent Children program, no longer exists.  Its closest analogue is the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which A) is a federal grant to the states for providing assistance, and is not a state program we could cut; and B) the entire program, including funds to all fifty states plus our territories and dependencies, including all available supplemental, contingency, and emergency funds, cost the federal government $23.1 billion for this year.)

Wait, what?  And you served in our military?  Did you not actually READ our constitution before swearing that little oath to uphold it, especially the parts that make clear that the military is always beholden to civil authorities, be it the Congress for funds or the President for its orders?  Or, for that matter, anything our Founding Fathers ever said about the threat of a standing army to freedom, in part because they might do exactly what you're advocating?

That oath you swore doesn't let you ignore the inconvenient parts of the constitution when you don't like how our elected officials (yes, they were *elected* to office) are handling things.  Even if they ARE acting unconstitutionally, it's not the military's job to sort it out; that's the purpose of impeachments, judicial review, and - yes - more elections.

I am SO glad you're no longer holding a position in this nation's armed forces; we don't need advocates for juntas anywhere near those institutions.  This is America, not Myanmar.

ANNIE the wellfare system is a mess. It need total retooling. As a matter of a fact, everything does. It's not just a matter of cutting.

Hey Assgroper, before anyone joins the U.S. armed forces they must make the oath to serve and protect the U.S.A. both foreign and domestic. Our constitution and our civil rights are under attack right now as we speak by own damn government. This is why I think the military should seize our federal officials so we can remove them from power. The government thinks they can call the shots now for any business that took the TARP money like Chrysler. I heard a man on the radio last night who is forced by the government to shut down his dealership in Long Island NY when his dealership is in the top 2% of all volume sales in the U.S. for Chrysler dealerships. The poor man who netted over 2 million dollars a year in profit is now forced to shut down his business while some of the low performing Chrysler dealerships are allowed by the government to keep their dealerships. The man was not given any valid reason by the gov to shut down his business the gov told him that he must file bankruptcy and sell his volume of vehicles individually which he had purchased by himself and eat the cost. This is an outrage and a clear and present danger to our society. If the gov can make moves like this then what's next? This radical government is bad news for us and they will not stop this non sense and we haven't even seen the beginning of it yet. So if it were up to me I would have all the crooked politicians arrested and interrogated to find out what their true agenda really is.

Ummm, it's hard to say that Shane joined the military because he respects the constitution when he posts comments saying that the army should seize the federal governement. Unfortunately, there is this silly democratic principle known as civilian control of the military.
