The Ten Signs

Here are ten signs you have become an insufferable conservative windbag:

  1. You think the Bush political dynasty was greater than the Kennedy political dynasty.
  2. You think the words "socialist" and "fascist" are synonymous.
  3. You think Glenn Beck is an authoritative expert on… anything.
  4. You see the popularity of movies like "Inglorious Basterds" as evidence that Americans actually think torture is a good thing.
  5. You think President Obama was really born in Kenya.
  6. You believe America has the best health care system in the world.
  7. You keep your kids out of school during the Democrat president's "Stay in School" speech because you fear his alternative viewpoints on which you are obviously unequipped as a parent to give any perspective.
  8. You support the government 100% when they want to send Americans to go kill people in other countries but vehemently oppose the government when they want to give Americans health care.
  9. You believe poverty would be solved if those dang poor people would just get off their butts and get a better job.
  10. You feel that bringing an assault rifle to a town meeting about health care is perfectly reasonable.

Okay, so I'm a firm believer in equal time for opposing views (too bad we don't have that anymore), so here are ten signs you have become an insufferable liberal windbag:

  1. You think George W. Bush was the mastermind behind 9/11.
  2. You refuse to eat the elephants in a box of Animal Crackers.
  3. You're a vegetarian for reasons other than health. (Okay, maybe just... You're a vegetarian.)
  4. You spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on solar panels for your home that saves you a fraction of your electricity bill.
  5. You get all your political news from "The Daily Show with John Stewart."
  6. Your cubicle walls are covered with posters of Michael Moore movies.
  7. Your favorite TV show is "Whale Wars" on Animal Planet.
  8. You keep your kids out of school during the Republican president's "Stay in School" speech because you fear his alternative viewpoints on which you are obviously unequipped as a parent to give any perspective. (It happened in 1991.)
  9. You think violent and sexual content in TV, movies and video games is an important issue.
  10. You're Bono (from U2).

Nice,..while I pay more than the 180.00 for 3  scripts,. in taxes, and  no persoanl opttions  other get "free health care' they had before   why doesn't someone  say that is going to have to work for the people that made this law too. no special  PPO's for them and no exempt insurance for the bastards trying to screw us!

All I'm saying is if there is something someone else is doing better than we are, and from what I can tell there is a lot doing better than we are, we should look at what they are doing right and maybe adopt some of it.  I'm not saying any system is perfect, but it's clear to me there are systems out there working a lot better than what we have.

Well I can say I've had jobs and then has EDD to help me through. As of late i have no ablitly  to probably pay for anything now. This is my last week of unemployment insurance so I had better find a job in the next week or I'm dead in the water. Life is that way.

thanks A1joe. I will check it out. I never heard of a health plan when you don't have an employer. cool of them though. Alliance, here I come.

You've been pointing out mortality rates and such. I just wanted to show that our stats are not too dreary in comparison. The suicide comparison was just a bonus bit of fact for you to consider before your big conversion to the Euro.

I'll take the advantages / disadvantages that come with being an American. I don't envy the many other nations you speak of with their claims to have better healthcare. There are just too many random factors that go into the statistics... Like that of our supposed non-biased polling system here in the states (consistently unreliable).

Once again, I've never said that we have a perfect healthcare system... I do believe it could be better. But I'm not up for scrapping it altogether just to have it retooled at the behest of progressive idealism.

Ah, I see Heath. So there's a couple more people killing themselves therefore we must assume it's due to the quality of life and in conclusion our health care system is fine. Very well.

I have Alliance Insurance. You can pretty much pick a plan that is good for you.

Hey  h1n1joe,  you've said that you're unemployed. How do you have a PPO medical plan? I'm between gigs too and could use something like that especially with cold time of year coming up. Please help.

France population: 64,057,792 .549% population growth rate (2009 estimate.)

Life expectancy: Men 77.9 / Women 84.33 / total population avg: 80.98

Suicide rates per 100,000: Males 26.4 / Females 9.2 (2005 estimate).

Net migration rate: 1.48 migrant(s) per 1,000 population (2009 est.)

USA population: 307, 212,123 with an 0.975% population growth rate ( 2009 estimate)

Life expectancy: Men 75.65 / Women 80.69 / total population avg: 78.11

Suicide rates per 100,000: Males 17.7 / Females 4.5 (2005 estimate)

Net migration rate (that we know of): 4.31 migrant(s) per 1,000 population (2009 est.)

If in fact they do (once again for argument's sake) have a better health program than we do, I would think it only based on a number scale. Basically, you have to consider that we have a ton of more folks to care for... not to mention the neighbor's kids as well.

It does not appear to me, that we are at as grand a disadvantage as you would have us think Bobby.

And in that spirit, I'll take our numbers!

With that difference in suicide comparisons, seems we're the happier sort of the lot. Makes me proud to know that on average we don't have as many Kurt Cobains on our lands.

They don't have anyone being denied treatment, or having their coverage taken away because they get sick or injured.

Be happy soon we will have that too,..but it will sub-standard care. ALLL that money can't buy.Even with my PPO Soon, thanks  to the Demo's pushing to get it through, I will HAVE to take the sub standard government cheese.  And not  the PPO I want,..taking the  personal opt out of  this is really gonna piss people off.  Wonder if my 180 prescription  bill will become more costly? Whoohoo had to add Plavix to my  line up

RobShock, I think you should move there.

Joe, it's statistically proven they are healthier.  They also don't have a lot of things we do in America.  They don't have anyone being denied treatment, or having their coverage taken away because they get sick or injured.  They don't have anyone being told they can't get health care for any reason.  They don't have insurance-covered hospitals who shove uninsured people into taxis to take them to charity hospitals who are overwhelmed.  These are the biggest reasons why the health care system in France and other countries like it are better than what we have here.

Maybe it's because there are fewer Frogs (frenchmen).  Oui.

And remember Kennedy was kicked out of school for hiring someone to take his Spanish test.

back in the 80's people were going to France for miracle sure,.or maybe better treatment "supposedly" and they croaked just as fast as Americans did.  Oh yeah French smoke drink and abuse themselves and have great healthy care haha don't you think you should have a better quality of life so you don't NEED the health care earlier on?  I don't honestly think they are healthier,.it might appear that way.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about with the hiv thing, but the fact is the overall mortality rate is higher in the US than in countries like France.  And the weird thing is France has a bigger eating/drinking/smoking culture than we do but somehow they are healthier.  Must have something to do with their healthcare system.  I'm also not sure what you meant with the latter part of your comment.  France and countries like it have a large population who lives in relative luxury, and a much smaller population who lives in poverty.  And they are very productive and enjoy as much freedom of speech as we do. They are as vocal against their government as we are.

I'd rather be here thanks, I recall people where dying just as fast of things like HIV/AIDS when they thought They'd get better treatment there in the 80's and 90's as i heard.  but besides that.   wouldn't you like to work less and get paid more?  I think it was some Asian country  that had said that we basically are a buncha slackers.  I think they were right,.the job doesn't matter but man that money does huh?  We are always looking for more money and less work,.and willing to do shoddy work.. but I think the rest of the world is starting to follow our example

According to your list I'm half and half! Hmmmm.... who knew?

Actually I would gladly live in France and would be much more confident getting a major illness there than here.  Their health system is efficent and effective and results in much lower mortality rates and higher quality of living for people in all classes.  Our problems go much deeper than greed.

Yeah so,..Who does the world health organization say is "THE" top number one best care giver is? hmmmmm? France? I think if you took away the greed aspect of it I would say the US is the top.  I wouldn't want to live in France and have some major illness now would you? Really? They don't even know what Jim Morrison died of ha ha

"agree with most but 6 IS true,.name me another country?"
